Homestead House Interiors

My mother and I decided Saturday that we would go and visit my sister n law and neice at their new store in Grosebeck, and I will be showing pictures of it soon. After we left there we decided we would head towards Calvert, which is about 40 miles from where we were. I had not been to Calvert in a good many years. I was really sad when we arrived there to find so few Antique stores left. Calvert used to have Antique stores up and down the main road! But I did find a few Antique stores left and I have posted some pictures of one of them today! On a good note I was told that some of the old buildings have been purchased so hopefully we will see more antiques stores coming back!
I just love the way they displayed their plants!

This was really cute, can't believe I didn't look to see how they stacked those pots!
love the flower boxes

I think this was my favorite thing on the trip. I love the old door, and the old brick. I especially love the ivy growing all over it!

The shop owner gave me a little info on this leather loveseat. It's called Le jambre furniture 1880's. Pheladelphia PA. tufed leather.
I love all the blue glass wear!
This piece is Rosewood ete gu 1860's with a marbel top!

lovely old fainting couch!

display cabinet full of goodies!
This is the shop owner, she was the sweetest lady, we talked for quite a while. I especially grew fond of her when I found out that she rescues animals. She had 2 of the cutties little dogs she had rescued, I took their pictures but they were to blurry to show, anyway if your ever in the area stop by for a visit. Homestead House Interiors 5155 Main, owners Dennis & Rabecca, they provide Interior design, and Dennis does upholstering, refinishing and caning. They are there Thurs- Sat 10-5 , Sun 1-5

The piece in the middle beside the mirror is solid walnut, only 19 left in the US.

We went through Calvert a while back and you are right about a lot of the shops closing. That bring building with door is one of my favorite buildings to look at too.

Thanks for taking us on your day trip. I am trying to stay away from shops like that. I am trying to clean out, not add. :D
Have a great week.

Thanks for the trip! I used to drive thru Calvert and Groesbeck on my way to Warrenton/Round Top and would find all kinds of good stuff. Haven't been that way in a while. See you soon! .... Maggie

You are right that old door is amazing. Can you imagine the size a room would have to be for some of those pieces of furniture. What wonderful things and that fainting couch!
