I find myself loving the color gray a lot these days. I think it's so beautiful in this kitchen. I'm also looking for lots of inspiration since I'm finally going to redo my kitchen. No I'm not one of those do it yourself people, so now I'm just waiting for the contractor to give me some bids, and I'm getting very inpatient. I'm ready to get this started!
I do plan on having touches of gray in my new kitchen!
I will be showing before and after pictures of our redo, as we go through the transformation of our kitchen. I love the ideal of putting marble on my island, and I'm already pretty sure that I want granite counter tops. I don't want it to be all the same, I like mixing different elements together!
Definitely going with all stainless appliances. After the kitchen is all redone I'll be getting my hands into some major decorating in our home, and yes this is where I come in. I do love the decorating part. I'm so ready for a total new look! I had planned to go with an elegant French look and of course everything being white and off whites, still want the whites but thinking for now I might go with a French farmhouse look. What do you think!

The gray sure is pretty. This certainly is grand and inspirational. I've always wanted a kitchen island that required it's own zip code!
I love the gray :)))
I made a new blog, my old one has bene hacked, hope you visit again!

A new kitchen is so inspiring ... for it truly is the heart of the home. It seems that once you start the overhaul there ... you cannot but help progress to other rooms of your nest! :))) I love the French farmhouse look. Would love to have all that white ... however, living in dust-bowl country it would never work! I'm not really sure how I would define my style right now ... Our nest is swathed in vintage velvets, antique rose oil paintings, and Asian paintings depicting animals. There is nature everywhere ... from my collection of birds nests, to mosses, feathers, antlers, and wasp nests. I would say I'm bohemian eclectic, with a Victorian flair. :O
I love gray, too. But for this color you need much light and air. It's not difficult to paint a kitchen, but you need patience. Maybe you can first test with gray cardboard on some doors?

Gray sounds like a great idea. I love your inspiration photos. We just finally bought new appliances. I am loving my stainless steel.
Sound fun Daphne but right now I am just happy to have time to clean my kitchen up!!! LOL! Do love the grey though!

Those are wonderful inspiration photos. I'm struggling with the grey question too. I'm thinking of painting grey walls in my bedroom, but i can't figure out if it's just a fad or a trend or if it's just a good timeless color...
I did paint my top kitchen cabinets white and the bottoms "comfort grey", which is more a blue grey, and i love it, if that helps... and i've added touches of grey on some furniture in my house, i still like it. So far it seems like a good non color color that makes other things look good.
I can't wait to watch your projects unfold!

Hi Cindy, thanks so much for the info. I love the gray/blue color too, it's one of my favorites.
Loving that first kitchen, it's gorgeous! I say go for it! xo
Gorgeous images Daphne!

I know youll be making your house into a heaven! I love looking at this decor, and I can totally see the grey in any kitchen looking fabolous! ;)
Hugs,
Oh you're going to be having a lot of fun with this. Can't wait to see how it progresses. I love the gray, but I don't think I could live with too much of it. xoxo Debra
How great that you get to look at all your inspirations pics for your kitchen redo, Daphne! The condo we decided on has creamy white cabinets and a light grey countertop {looks like a corian, but it's not} as well as a light grey on the walls. I do like the darker grey in your pictures, but I will probably leave it the lighter grey since there is no window directly in the kitchen. I look forward to following along with your redo and decorating!
So glad you like gray. I just painted some cabinets a smoke gun gray & love it. Wasn't so sure but took the chance.
