Vintage cookie Jar & Estate Sale Finds

I was so excited to see our cookie jar in Romantic Home Magazine in the last issue! This cookie jar belonged to my husbands grandmother, and it was left to him when she passed away. I can't believe it's in such perfect condition after all these years! It holds special memories for my husband, he remembers as a child it was always full of cookies, and of course he always had his hand in the cookie jar, along with all the other grandchildren. From all the things that were left this is what he wanted because it was so special to him!
I think it is sooooo cute!

This is a lovely little silver set that I found at an estate sale recently! All of the pictures that I'm showing came from 2 different estate sales.

I just had to have this, and only because of it being pink! I just love pink!!!

adorable little ironstone platter!
Now here is another pink find. I think this is from the 50's or 60's! I got so excited when I seen this little pink treasure sitting there.
I was really excited to find 2 of these clocks, I like the green too, but the pink is my favorite!

I actually found these wood pieces at an Antique store! They have hangers on the back.
Lovely little vase marked USA on the bottom!
I'm not into the kitchen things that much, but if I find some with the red or green handle's I usually tried to get them, I know that a lot of people do collect them!
Does anyone know what this is, I had no ideal. The lady that was working the sale told me what she thought it might be, but I was wanting to know what you think it is. I don't know if it's old or a new piece either!

Hello Daphne... I believe your piece is a garlic press, however I don't think it is older... I collect cookie jars too, and I love the Puss n' Boots Shawnee one that was your hubby's grandmothers! Such precious memories it must hold... I actually bought a Red Riding Hood like that off Ebay years ago, and I have a Goose like that from when I got married the first time in 1970 (see, "I" am vintage!) You really got some wonderful treasures... I remember my mama having a pink electric razor like that... wow, this brings back so many memories... love to you... xoxo Julie Marie PS I am going right out and buy that magazine!

Dear Daphne... I am lusting over those wood pieces you found at the Antique Store! *swoon* The colors and aging of the wood to perfection are my Spring/Summer pallette and the hardware is gorgeous!

Thanks for stopping by my post, had to smile at your comment about leaving DH's Den alone... The Man has his personal space in one of the back Cottages that he's turned into his Workshop and I wouldn't dream of intruding and trying to redecorate! *smiles* He actually has it done in a nice Southwest theme, but alas, he got into the 'demolition mode' like all Men tend to do and ripped out most of the built-in Antique cabinetry that was in there *GASP*... I was horrified, but he saved the Salvage Architectural elements for me... so what are ya gonna do or say?! *wink* I love your bags too and noticed all the fab Belgian cut Velvet you so often utilize and the Silk fringe... I adore using both in my bags also, gives a very Bohemian/Hippie era feel like the old Carpet Bags I remember from my childhood (and still have some vintage pieces of actually). Nice to give a modern twist to a timeless classic style.

Hi Daphne! I saw that you were having trouble signing up to follow, I had this same problem and you have to tgo in and delete your cookies. I did this to fix the problem. There is a tutorial in google about how to do this. Let me know if you need help and I can email it to you. I love all of your darling finds. My favorite is antique wood pcs , the s and p shakers and the cookie jar is divine. I am like you anything pink makes my heart jump!
Hugs,
Olivia

Hi Daphne, happy Pink Saturday, The clock and shaver are from when I was growing up "The 50's" I had a clock radio too, don't know where all that stuff went, I was about 14 years old. Now that lovely box that you have had forever I'm in love with and really should come my way!! Have a fun filled Pink weekend, PS don't forget about my Button!! Did your man get that figured out yet??

Hello Daphne,

I just came across your blog thanks to Pinterest. I can tell you about those "tongs" you have at the end of your blog: they hold a tomato for slicing evenly. My mom put one in my Christmas stocking about 30 years ago, and she had to show me what it was for (yes, I still got a Christmas stocking well into my 30s). Whether or not you still have it, I thought you might be interested to know what it was.
